A Lagos council boss, Honourable Rasak Olusola Ajala, has initiated a special education project ‘Special Education’ programme for the youths and students.
Ajala is the Executive Secretary of Odiolowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State
In a statement issued by his media aide and publishd in aNaijreport, the council boss said the project is targeted at raising the academic standard of the council’s student populace.
“We believe that the best anyone can ever give a child is qualitative education hence the emergence of this programme, we strongly believe that investing in these students is for the betterment of our tomorrow as a community, as a people and as a nation," he said.
He noted that the ‘Special Education’ programme is for all students in the council, adding that 250 students will be given free General Certificate Examination (November December GCE) forms after a mock examination to be conducted by the Odiolowo/Ojuwoye LCDA.
“The good thing about this Special Education programme is that, it’s for every student in the LCDA, as long as you’re a student of any public school in Ilupeju, Odiolowo or Ojuwoye, you’re qualified to write the exam and subsequently benefit from the scholarship and bursary package once you emerge victorious in the main Nov/December examination."
The statement further noted that the council will also introduce poverty alleviation programmes.
