Forty Five + Five = Fifty Things You Need For NYSC Camp




Before you even start your preparation for orientation camp , you have to set your mind on what to expect , what to buy , things not to take and all but most importantly you need to know some important info about camp. Orientation Camp is a once in a life opportunity . its a time you really meet different kind of individuals most especially for the butty children and those who went to private university. You will meet , live and learn from strangers. At the end of the day, our experiences might be different but having a fore-knowledge of what to expect will reduce your “camp-shock.”

The next batch due for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) – Batch B 2015 – will be going for camping from October 28, 2015. What and what should you take to Camp? Do you really need most of the things you’ve packed into your big leather box already? Here’s a checklist of what i think an ‘Otondoh’ like you is like to need.

* You will be provided with 2 pairs of white T-shirts and shorts in camp but you can take up to 2 pairs along.
* Colored panties will be too conspicuous under the white tops and bottoms.
* You can take a 2 – 3 sets of casual wears/mufti for Sunday and camp fire night.
* 1 pair of shoe and socks is okay. It is good to have a white rubber shoe that is easy to clean (sold at camp also)

If you have an internet-enabled camera phone, do take it along. Camp life can be very boring without one. You will like to take pictures and share with your friends.
You only need to be very vigilant and protective of your things. If you feel you need a bulletproof vest or helmet, please carry it. You know what we mean, don’t you?
50. MONEY, MONEY, AND MORE MONEY.* Never, ever, ever run out of it. Bring as much as you can afford. * 

Mirrors and forks are known to be contraband items in camp * Prices of items apart from fast consumer goods (Credit, Gala, Indomie etc) are usually higher than those outside so it is advisable you buy the things you can before going into camp.

How to Print NYSC Batch B Call-Up Letter Online – 2015

To all prospective corps members that wish to print their call-up letters online from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) portal, below are the stress-free procedure you can follow to do it yourself.

N:B: Currently, printing of call up letters by Batch ‘B’ prospective corps members will be startis on today, Thursday, 22nd October and ends on Monday, 26th October, 2015.

Batch ‘B’ Orientation Course (stream I) holds 28th October – 16th November 2015 while (stream II) holds 25th November – 14th December, 2015.

OOU Admission 2015/2016: Candidates With Invalid JAMB Registration Numbers

This is to inform candidates who participated in the Post-UTME 2015 exercise of the Olabisi Onabanjo University but could not find their names on either Batch A or Batch B list admitted candidates for 2015/2016 that they should check their names on the list of candidates with invalid JAMB Registration Number contained in the pdf document below.

If your name is on the list, you are advised to proceed to the admission office at room 009, main campus, Ago Iwoye with your JAMB Result and credentials.

UI Extends Direct Entry Online Registration 2015/2016 Deadline

This is to inform Direct Entry aspirants of University of Ibadan that the deadline for online registration and submission of document has been extended.

The new date is Friday, October 23rd, 2015.
Candidates are advised to ensure that they complete their registration and submit all specified documents before the stated date.

UNILORIN Produces 69 First Class As 6,710 Students Graduate

The University of Ilorin, during its 31st convocation ceremony which coincided with the 40th anniversary of the institution graduated a total number of 6,710 students.
According to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali, 1,392 bagged Second Class (Upper Division), 2,884 got Second Class (lower division), adding that 932 were awarded Third Class while 82 got Pass.
While speaking on the issue of admission quota the Vice Chancellor said, "We want to improve access to education, but we can't compromise quality. Also, the NUC is the body controlling the admission. We have to abide by the rules set. There are other good universities in the country. I can only assure parents that the Federal Government will increase facilities that will enable us to admit more students."

JAMB 2016: Candidates Warned Against Registering With Unapproved Centres

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has again warned candidates about registering with unapproved registration centres for the 2016 UTME.
This was contained in a statement signed by the board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin.
Excerpts of the statement read, “The board hereby wants to state unequivocally that it will not be liable in the event of any irregularity, challenges or inaccessible data arising from the wrong registration.
“JAMB, once again, urges candidates that their registration should be done at its approved centres, to avoid certain challenges such as no results and incomplete results.
“The essence of registration at the approved centres for the candidates is to ensure complete results without any hitches.
“Candidates are also to note that the registration will be ending in January 2016,” it said.
According to the statement, JAMB has put all machinery in place to ensure that next year’s examination records an improvement over the 2015 exercise.
“We are working round the clock to give the country an examination that is malpractice and stress-free; and guarantees the spirit of equality and fairness to all and sundry.
“Be informed that this year’s registration has been done in a way that candidates will have additional provision for more preferred choices, in case they do not get admission in their most preferred choice.
