Cultists Shoot Corps Member Dead In Bayelsa

Obele, a suburb of Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, was, over the weekend, seized by panic, following the killing of a corps members by suspected cultists in the community.
The deceased, a graduate of the Federal University of Agriculture, Markurdi in Benue State, was attached to the Bayelsa State Ministry of Works for his primary assignment.‎ Official sources at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) gave his name as James Onuh.
Confirming the development, spokesman of the Bayelsa State Police Command, Asimin Butswat, said the deceased was shot and was rushed to the hospital, where he later died. “We are trailing the suspects; investigations are ongoing” said the spokesman.

*.All duly completed nomination forms are to be submitted to the Directorate of Students Affairs not later than 14thJune, 2016.
*.There will be no room for late submission of nomination forms after 12noon 14thJune, 2016.
*.All aspirants are expected to conduct themselves and keep strictly to these guidelines.
Guidelines for the 2016/2017 Students’ Union Election
1.A prospective aspirant into any office of the Students’ Union Government of the Ekiti State University must be a bonafide student of the University.
2.He/She must have fully registered for the 2015/2016 Academic Session.
3.He/She must have paid in full his/her school fees for the 2015/2016 Academic Session at least 2 days before the date of the Election.
4.Such an aspirant must be in 200 level and above.
5.Such an aspirant must have a CGPA not below 3.00 during the 2014/2015 academic session as approved by the Senate of the University.
6.An aspirant into the office of the President must be in 300 level with the exception of aspirant in Faculty of Law, Agric, Engineering and College of Medicine who must be in 400 level.
7.Such a student must not be having any pending disciplinary case(s) against him or her.
8.Central Electoral Committee will not entertain late submission of Nomination forms and neither will it be accepted by proxy.
9.Any aspirant found defacing the University buildings with posters and writings will be automatically disqualified.
10. Use of Vulgar/Foul languages during campaign will be seriously Sanctioned.
1. Any aspirants found to be instigating violence tendencies during electioneering campaign will be automatically disqualified.
2. Any aspirants found to be defacing the posters of other aspirants will be disqualified.
3. ELECTIONS SHALL BE BY E-VOTING.
4.Any aspirant found to belong or affiliated to any illegal association on campus shall be automatically disqualified.

UNIBEN Extends Postgraduate Admission Form Deadline – 2016/17

University of Benin, UNIBEN postgraduate admission form closing date for the 2016/2017 academic session has been extended by one month.
Authority of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) has announced a new closing date for the 2016/2017 academic session postgraduate admission form.
UNIBEN postgraduate closing date that was earlier scheduled for 30th May, 2016, has been extended to 30th June, 2016.

EKSU Suspends Post-UTME Registration 2016 Following Post-UTME Scrap

The management of Ekiti State University has suspended the 2016 Post-UTME registration which commenced Tuesday 31st May, 2016 following the scrapping of post-UTME by the Federal government.
A notice on EKSU Post-UTME registration portal reads, "This facility is not yet available.
The University will inform you of what you have to do following the cancellation of POST UTME TESTS by FG. Thank you"

Post – HND (B.ENG) programme 2nd and 3rd batch admission list of Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun is out.
