Today is University of Ibadan Matriculation Ceremony Details – 2015/16

University of Ibadan, UI matriculation ceremony date and how to obtain academic gowns and caps by the 2015/2016 academic session newly admitted students.
The 2015/2016 Matriculation Ceremony of the newly admitted students of the University of Ibadan (UI) will hold on Thursday, 10 March, 2016at10:00 a.m.in theUI International Conference Centre.
Please note the following:
1.New students (including new postgraduate students) are to be seated in the venue of the Matriculation Ceremony by 9:30 a.m. prompt. The Dress Code is Formal. ANY STUDENT who is not properly dressed and seated by 9:30am will not be allowed into the Hall.
2.Academic gowns and caps are to be collected from the Faculties (Deans’ Offices) from Tuesday, 8 March, 2016. The academic gowns and caps must be returned immediately after the Ceremony.
3.The Matriculation Register will be signed in the Faculties (Deans’ Offices) except the College of Medicine Matriculants, who will sign the Register at the venue of the ceremony

Students are being robbed within and outside their hostels. They have cried out to appropriate authorities to find a solution to this.

Students of theNnamdi Azikiwe Pharmaceutical School, in Agulu community, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra state are currently in a state of panic over the invasion ofrobbersin the area.
It has been reported that students are being robbed within and outside their hostels. They have cried out to appropriate authorities to find a solution to this.
A victim of the robbers toldTheNationthat students were under constant fear since the current semester in the school.
She said the first attack on her was in February when her lodge was burgled when the students were away to lectures.

She also added that the second experience was two weeks ago as she was coming back from evening class when the hoodlums on a bike snatched her hand bag and made away with her property.

A security official who pleaded anonymity confirmed the attack but said their hands are tied since the incidents did not occur within the school.

The security man maintained that the snatching of bags, handsets and way laying students on the way were new developments in the community.
According to him, “the next option is for the school authorities to liaise with the Agulu community vigilante group unit to protect the students within the hostel community from these hoodlums."

TheAhmadu Bello University, Zaria has joined the drive to make education available to more Nigerians. The school today launched its Distance Learning Center and unveiled seven Diploma programmes that will be offered on theeLearning platform.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ibrahim Garba, speaking on development, says: “We have plans to raise the number of students being admitted into the institution from 6,000 to 50,000 over the next 10 years. Included in this plan is the introduction of our distance learning center and today we are glad that it is a reality. The only solution to the limited admission spaces in our tertiary institutions is through embarking on distance learning education”.

Also speaking on the development, The Director of ABU Distance Learning Center, Professor Hassan Adamu Zoaka, says: “ABU’s Distance Learning Center seeks to provide practical solution to the problem of accessing quality tertiary education in the country. Now students anywhere in the world can have access to ABU’s quality education without restrictions. Students in the eLearning programme will get the same certificate as on-campus students and Online or Distance Learning will not be stated on their certificates. ABU’s Diploma is admissible for all relevant degree programmes (on campus or by Distance Learning) in ABU and other institutions.”

The center is offering the following programs via the eLearning mode:

- Diploma in Mass Communication

- Diploma in Social Work and Development Studies

- Diploma in Local Government Studies

- Diploma in Public Administration

- Diploma in Peace and Security Studies

- Advanced Diploma in Public Administration

- Higher Diploma in Local Government

The ABU DLC model allows students to attend lectures without coming to the physical campus. Lectures are delivered electronically through a tablet device. Assignments and quizzes are also taken and submitted online and examinations would be taken at different test centers across the country. Students will thus not be required to travel to Zaria to take their examinations.                                                                                

Application into the programmes can be made online at register.abudlc.edu.ng. All processes - application, registration, screening and examinations are done online. Applicants with four (4) credit passes, including English, at not more than two sittings are eligible to apply.

Management of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB-) have released the postgraduate supplementary admission list for the 20115/2016 academic session online.

Academic gowns and order of proceedings are to be collected at the various Faculties from Monday 14thMarch, 2016 – Wednesday 16thMarch, 2016 on payment of N20,000.00 for purpose of the Convocation. All payments should be made through bank draft from any of the following banks: FCMB, UBA, First Bank, Zenith, Diamond Bank, Access Bank and IMSU Micro-Finance Bank.

*.Gowns will be issued on presentation of the evidence of payment.
*.Any Ph.D. Graduand who wishes to own his/her gown should pay the sum of N30,000.00 to the designated banks.
*.Graduands are to assemble at the designated Faculty stands on the day of the Convocation by 7 a.m. for the procession.
*.No Graduand will be allowed into the Convocation Arena after the procession.
