Post-UTME: Check out cut off marks for your school of choice

Students who wrote this year Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can now check cut-off marks for their schools of choice.

The list contains cut off marks for tertiary institutions (universities, polytechnics, colleges of education) as published by jambnews.ng early this year.
Any student seeking admission to any tertiary institution’s post UTME has to score at least the cutoff mark before being considered for the pre-admission processes after the UTME.

UNILAG Chancellor's brother killed during convocation

Kyari was part of the dignitaries in the entourage that accompanied the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar El-Kanemi, to Lagos for his investiture as the UNILAG Chancellor.

Former Auditor-General of Borno State,Mallam Kaka Kyariwas among those who lost their lives during theUniversity of Lagosconvocation ceremonies on Thursday, March 3.

According to Punch reports, Kyari was part of the dignitaries in the entourage that accompanied the Shehu of Borno,Alhaji Abubakar El-Kanemi, to Lagos for his investiture as theUNILAGChancellor.
It was learnt that another man, whose identity had yet to be ascertained, was allegedly shot by security operatives at the university’s gate.

Kyari reportedly died in a fire incident that occurred on Thursday at about 2am at the university’s guesthouse.
Though the fire affected five rooms in the building, the cause of the inferno has not been ascertained.

A source told Punch that "the incident happened on Thursday morning, but the activities accompanying the three-day convocation did not allow people to know of the incident. I also gathered that the remains of the deceased have been conveyed to Borno State for burial.”

In a statement Deputy Registrar/Head of Information Unit of the university,Mr. Toyin Adebule, Kyari's death was confirmed;
“The Management of the University of Lagos regrets to inform the general public that there was a fire incident at the university guesthouse at about 2am on Tuesday, March 1, 2016.

“The fire occurred in the A Wing and affected rooms A12, A13 and A14. The university fire service was able to curtail the fire from spreading. The cause of the fire is being investigated.

“Sadly, the incident claimed the life of one of our guests, Alhaji Kaka Kyari, a former Auditor General, Borno State, who was on the entourage of the chancellor and was laid to rest according to Islamic injunctions today, March 3, 2016 in Borno State.

“The pro-chancellor, vice-chancellor, council members, management, staff and students of the University of Lagos commiserate with our chancellor and the people of Borno State on the demise of Alhaji Kaka Kyari.”

Notice to UNIZIK Graduands: Convocation Fees, Gown

Nnamdi Azikiwe University, UNIZIK notice to graduands as regards the forthcoming convocation ceremonies.
Important information to all 2010/2011, 2011/2012, 2012/2013, 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 Graduands of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, as regards hiring/purchasing of academic gowns and mode of payments.
Graduands are please requested to note the following.
i. It is mandatory for all Graduands to pay for the following items irrespective of attendance to the Convocation Ceremony.
a) Order of Proceedings
B-) Academic Outfits
c) Certificate Scrolls
d) UNIZIK Handbook
e) UNIZIK T shirt and cap
CONVOCATION FEES
First Degree – N8,000.00
Masters Degree and Postgraduate Diploma – N12,000.00
Ph.D. – if the Graduand wants to purchase the academic gown (including all the above items) as listed in (a-e) – N40,000.00
Ph.D. – If the Graduand wants to hire academic gown (including the above items as listed in a-e) above – N20,000.00
I. All Graduands are expected to dress in full appropriate wear (i.e. suit, shirt and tie for men and Skirt suit/skirt and blouse or gown for Ladies) or full national dress.
II. Academic outfits for all first Degree Graduands will be collected at the Faculties
III. Academic outfits/materials for Higher Degrees will be collected at the School of Postgraduate Studies
IV. Graduands must present evidence of payment before they can collect Convocation materials
V. Collection of Convocation materials commences on Monday, 14th March, 2016
VI. All hired academic outfits/gowns should be returned by the Graduands to their respective collection points not later than Wednesday, March 23, 2016. Gowns returned after that date will attract penalty.
VII.All Graduands are to assemble at the School of Postgraduate Studies (Opposite the Convocation Arena) by 9.00 am for the commencement of Procession each day
VIII.It is compulsory for all Graduands to participate in the academic procession and to put on the approved academic regalia.

MODE OF PAYMENT
All payments to Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka should be made through the following procedure:
• Log into Remita.net
• Click on pay a Federal government Agency
• Under the name of MDA type Nnamdi Azikiwe University
• Click on Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka
• Go to name of Service purpose and click on box
• Select Convocation fees, fill out the required information
• Print out or copy the Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number
• Take this RRR number to any bank of your choice and make payment
• Payment will begin on Monday, 7th March 2016.
SECURITY NOTICE
1. Luggages and bags will not be allowed into the Convocation Arena.
2. Parking lots are designated and can only be used on presentation of parking card and invitation card
3. University Security Personnel and other Security Agencies will direct all vehicles to the designated parking lots.
4. No form of hawking of any item will be allowed near the Convocation Arena.

Ekiti State University, EKSU matriculation ceremony schedule for the 2015/2016 academic session new students.
Authority of Ekiti State University (EKSU) hereby wishes to inform the newly admitted students, their sponsors/parents, well wishers as well as members of the general public that the Matriculation Ceremony of the university meant to officially usher in the new students of the university for the 2015/2016 academic session has been scheduled for Friday, 11thMarch, 2016.
The ceremony will hold at 10 o’clock in the morning inside the Main Auditorium of the university.
Matriculants and their parents are expected to be seated by 9:30am. The ceremony which will be presided over by the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Samuel Oye Bandele, will involve the administering of the Matriculation oath on the students by the Registrar, Mr. Emmanuel Ogunyemi
