(A) ADMISSION OF STUDENTS FOR THE 2015 / 2016 ACADEMIC SESSION (DEGREE AND PRE-DEGREE PROGRAMMES)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Candidates for the Screening Exercise for admission into the DEGREE and PRE-DEGREE Programmes for the 2015/2016 Academic Session commencing OCTOBER 2014.
(i) GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
a. Candidates applying for admission into Pre-Degree Programme must possess minimum of four (4) O’level credit passes in subjects which must include English Language and Mathematics for Sciences and Management & Social Sciences. Candidates with deficiencies in their O’level results will be considered; but such candidates are however, required to make up for any deficiency before the 2015/2016 admission exercise.
b. Candidates applying for admission into any Undergraduate Programme must possess a minimum of five (5) O’level credit passes at not more than two sittings in WAEC/NECO SSCE AND GCE which must include credit passes in English Language and Mathematics, and any other THREE subjects relevant to the proposed course of study OBTAINED WITHIN THE LAST FIVE YEARS.
c. Direct Entry Candidates are expected to possess a good Diploma in their choice of Course (With minimum of Lower Credit) from reputable Polytechnics or Universities OR equivalent A’ Level Passes (including IJMB-) in relevant Subjects. DIRECT ENTRY STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO ALSO PURCHASE THE DIRECT ENTRY FORM OF THE JOINT ADMISSIONS & MATRICULATION BOARDS.
Candidates awaiting results can also apply provided there is the assurance that such results will be available before Matriculation in December, 2015.
(ii) Upon successful completion of the Pre-Degree Programme, candidates who must also satisfy the minimum score in the 2016/2017 JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME),would have opportunity of being placed in any of the following Degree Programmes;

The current school feesis N341,500 for the Degree Programme. The fee is payable in two instalments of 60:40 ratio at the beginning of First Semester and Second Semester respectively. Every new student will pay N25,000 as Acceptance fee before collection of Admission letter. Students will be responsible for their feeding in the University Restaurants on PAY AS YOU EAT BASIS.

Nigerian Institute of Journalism, NIJ admission form for the 2015/2016 academic session – ND, HND and PGD programmes.
The Nigerian Institute of Journalism, NIJ admission form into the institution’s National Diploma Programme in Mass Communication for the 2015/2016 academic session is on sale. Admissions into Higher National Diploma (HND) and Postgraduate Diploma programmes are also current in progress.
Are NIJ graduates mobilized for NYSC?YES!! NIJ Grads are usually mobilized for NYSC. Like other graduates from universities in Nigeria, upon completion of the HND program, students who fall within the required age for NYSC and meet all other criteria are mobilized to serve in the National Youth Service Corps.
Candidate Eligible for NIJ Post UTME – ND Programme.

Nigerian Institute of Journalism HND Programme – Mass Communication
Candidate Eligible for NIJ Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) Admission.
1. Have a good HND or University Degree in any discipline
2. Show evidence of participation in NYSC or exception letter
NIJ PGD programmes – Postgraduate Diploma in Print, Broadcast Journalism and Public Relations/Advertising.
Nigerian Institute of Journalism Admission Method of Application.
i. Interested persons should obtain bank draft for the sum of N3,550 only for ND, N5,050 only for HND and N7,050 only for PGD.
ii. All bank drafts should be draw from any of the Ecobank, Wema Bank or Aso Savings and Loans branches and made payable to the Nigerian Institute of Journalism. In the alternative, applicants may pay into the school account number 0042006463 in Ecobank or 120750454 in Wema Bank.
iii. Candidates should present the bank draft or the payment teller as the case may be to the Registry Department and collect appropriate form.
