UNICAL Matriculation Ceremony Details – 2015/16

University of Calabar, UNICAL matriculation ceremony date for the newly admitted undergraduates – 2015/2016 academic session.
This is to inform all the students that were offered admission into the University of Calabar (UNICAL) various undergraduate programmes for the 2015/2016 academic session that the authorities of the institution have announced the date, venue and other details about the 38th matriculation ceremony.
UNICAL freshmen matriculation ceremony for the 2015/2016 academic session shall hold on March, 22nd, 2016 at the Abraham Ordia Stadium by 9.00am prompt.
Parents, Guardians and the entire University Community are invited to attend the event.

NUC Denies the 11 Years Policy For The Training Of Medical Students


NationaNational Universities Commission, discredited the 11 years policy for the training of Medical Students.
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has reportedly denied claims that any student who wants to study medicine will henceforth spend 11 years in the university.This was disclosed by the NUC Executive Secretary, Prof. Julius Okojie, in Abuja.
Okojie explained that “A seven year MBBS programme that encompass a seamless four- year acquision of the B.SC. Basic Medical Science with interest in either Anatomy/Physiology/Biochemistry.
“At the end of seven years, students would have acquired the Bachelor of Medical Science, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees. In case of dental programmes, students would have acquired a degree in Basic Dental Sciences and Bachelor of Dental Surgery.”l Universities Commission, discredited the 11 years policy for the training of Medical Students.

KASU Not Admitting into Medicine this Session – 2016/17

Authority of the Kaduna State University (KASU) wishes to inform the general public and prospective candidates that it will not admit candidates for the MBBS Programme for 2016/2917 academic session.
Candidates who chose the MBBS programme of Kaduna State University for 2016/2017 academic session in 2016 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are advised to explore the window for change of course and institutionthrough the joint Admissions and matriculation Board (JAMB) which is ongoing.
However, candidates who are still interested in studying in Kaduna State University would be considered for placement into other suitable courses.

IMSU Best Graduating Student Showered With Gifts And Monetary Donationsg


The best graduating student of Imo state University at its 7th Convocation ceremony held recently could not have believed that his hard work as a student will ever give him the much attention and reward he received during the ceremony.
The graduate, simply identified as Mr Chigozie was said to have graduated from the department of optometry with a CGPA of 4.71.
During the ceremony, it was learnt that Mr Chigozie received a sum of 1 million Naira with automatic employment as a lecturer to the university and a scholarship award for his masters programme abroad from the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha during the ceremony.
Similarly, a house of assembly member in the state identified as Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor, gave him a sum of 500,000 Naira.
Also the pro-chancellor of the University, Chief Innocent pledged to donate a brand new car to Mr Chigozie from his company, Innoson group of company and was given another
sum of 50,000 by one Hon. Mathew Omegara to fuel the car.
With the news and attention first class students are getting recently, it seems we are beginning to appreciate hard work among students.
