IBBU Could Not Admit More Candidates For 2015/2016 Due To Low Admission Quota - VC

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU) Lapai has disclosed that the university could not admit more than 30 per cent of those who applied for admission in the 2015/2016 session due to low admission quota to the institution by NUC.
He revealed this during the matriculation ceremony of 2,956 new students for the 2015/2016 academic session held recently.
According to him, out of the 8,186 students that applied for admission only 3,078 were offered admission representing 30 per cent.

IBBU Awards Scholarship To 18 Students For Outstanding Academic Perfomance

18 students of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU) Lapai have been awarded scholarship by the institution for excellent academic performance in the 2014/2015 academic session.
This was announced by the Vice Chancellor of the institution Prof. Mohammed Nasir Maiturare, during the 2015/2016, matriculation ceremony of the institution.
According to him, the scholarship covers the tuition and accommodation of the beneficiary students through out their stay in the school provided they maintain a cumulative grade of four points and above in their various disciplines.
Any one that fails to meet this requirement will not benefit in the next academic session.

YABATECH Part-Time Resumption Date 2015/2016 Announce

The Rector has directed that all Part Time-returning students and newly admitted-students should kindly take note that the 2015/2016 academic session begins full swing on February 29,2016 as contained in the college approved academic calendar.
This notice is to allay the fear of students with regards to the rumour by confusionists that the resumption date has been postponed till June and that the admission for the session had been cancelled.
The screening for newly admitted students is on going and many candidates offered admission have continued with the process.
Students already undergoing screening and other registration process as well as those yet to commence the process are hereby encouraged to continue and prepare for full resumption on February29, 2016.

UNIPORT Convocation 2016 Postponed Indefinitely

University of Port-Harcourt, UNIPORT has postponed their convocation ceremony scheduled to hold on 6th of February, 2016. ScholarsAfrik uses this medium to inform all students, parents/guardians and well-wishers of all graduating students. UNIPORT has now postponed this convocation until further noticed.
The management of the University of Port Harcourt made this know in a publication on their website. No reason was given for the postponement. The management, however promised to announce a later date for the convocation ceremony in 2016.

The National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN matriculation date for 2015/2016 academic session has been announced. All newly-admitted students of the University should take note. Parents/guardians of students and the general public are also notified of this development.
A message on the official website of the National Open University has the matriculation date as Saturday the 20th February, 2016. Below is the full message addressed to the members of the public. This is the 15th matriculation ceremony of the National Open University of Nigeria.

ESUT College of Medicine Notice, Resumption Date – 2015/16

Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT College of Medicine resumption date and other important notice for the 2015/2016 academic session.
The Vice Chancellor acting on the advice of the Academic Board of the ESUT College of Medicine has approved the conditions stated hereunder for reopening of the College of Medicine.
1.DATE FOR REOPENING OF THE COLLEGE
The College will be reopened on Wednesday 10thFebruary, 2016.
2.PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION OF RETURNING STUDENTS INTO THE COLLEGE
For the purpose of Screening and Clearance, returning students are grouped as follows:
(a)Group IAll Clinical Students10thFeb., 2016
(b)Group IIAll Pre-Clinical (II) Students11thFeb., 2016
(c)Group IIIAll Pre-Clinical (I) Students12thFeb., 2016
(d)Group IVAnatomy and Med Lab. Students15thFeb., 2016
Students are advised to ensure that they are screened/cleared accordingly on the dates specified against the groupings above as there will not be any extension thereafter.
3.RESUMPTION OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
Academic activities will resume fully on Wednesday 17th February, 2016. Only students who successfully passed through the screening/clearance exercise will be allowed to participate therein.
4.ITEMS TO BE PRESENTED BY THE STUDENTS ON RETURN TO CAMPUS
Students returning to campus should show:-
1.Evidence of payments of all school fees from the first year of admission to, and including 2015/16 academic year.
2.Evidence of payments of hostels fees from second year to, and including 2015/16 academic year.
Hostel fees are payable into ESUT College of Medicine Account in Fidelity Bank Plc Account Number 4011056213.
3.Evidence of payments of Development Levy of N300,000.00 (Three hundred thousand naira) only. This applies to students admitted from 2013/2014 academic year till date. Also involved are all transfer students into Medicine from 2013/2014 academic year till date.
4.Evidence of payments for beds and mattresses at the cost of N35,000.00 (Thirty five thousand naira) only by students payable into ESUT College of Medicine Account in Fidelity Bank Plc, Account Number 4011056213.
5.Evidence of payment of refundable hostel caution fee of N20,000.00 Twenty thousand Naira) only by students payable into ESUT College of Medicine Account in Fidelity Bank Plc, Account Number 4011056213.
6.Receipt confirming purchase of hostel hand book by each student at a cost of N500.00 (Five hundred naira) only payable into the Bank Account stated above.
7.Original copies of all claimed credentials – Degrees, WASC/SSCE, NECO etc. for sighting. Photocopies of same to be presented alongside original copies for documentation.
8.Letter of Undertaking to be of good behaviour by each student.
9.Letter of Undertaking from Parents/Guardians guaranteeing that the concerned students will be of good behaviour. The Parent/Guardian must Indicate Full Name, Residential and Office Address, Mobile Phone Number and e-mail address.
Students are strongly advised not to return with beds, mattresses, electronic gadgets such as refrigerators, air conditioners, fans, laundry machines, television sets, electric stoves etc as such will not be allowed into the University hostel.
The Provost, College of Medicine, Deans, HODs, Teaching and non-Teaching staff of the College are requested to bring this information to the attention of their students and the entire College Staff and ensure full compliance.
