The vice Chancellor ofUniversity of Abujahas warned newly admitted students to resist any temptation to join a cult, engage in examination malpractices or extremism of any kind on campus.
Professor Micheal Adikwugave this advise while addressing Matriculation 3,900 Students in different faculties of learning, during the school matriculation ceremony.
Adikwu said that the institution is one of learning and that he expects students to maintain sound moral values.
He pointed out that failure to focus on education and maintain an impressive moral code will only resort to a waste of time for the students, leaving them useless to themselves and the society at large.
He stated that the University of Abuja as a microcosm of the Nigerian society, is bedeviled with a number of challenges that require urgent attention.
“Some of which include inadequate or non-availability of some basic facilities, acute shortage of hostel accommodation, lecture halls and laboratory spaces transportation among others.
“The university management is however committed to doing its best to overcome some of the major problems within the shortage possible time,”he said.
One of the matriculating students, Miss. Victoria Iorchir was full of praises to God, her parents and the university authority for making it possible to witness this epoch making event.
