The University of Lagos,UNILAG, in a bid to encourage entrepreneurial skills of students, have approved the establishment of ayouth centerwithin the campus of the University.
The center, which is being established by an American-based non for profit making organisation, is aimed at empowering the youths through capacity and entrepreneurship development.
The university is partnering withWe’re Empowered to Achieve the Impossible(WETATi) International to empower youths through entrepreneurial development.
Vice-Chancellor of the University,Prof. Rahamon Bello while receiving the founder of the organisation,Dr. Margaret Dureke, expressed his satisfaction with the organisation while also saying that the university looks forward to further collaboration with WETATi.
Earlier, at the maiden edition of a 2-day WETATi Youth Empowerment Conference Nigeria held at the UNILAG Staff School auditorium, students were awarded scholarships just as some key personalities were also honoured with special policy awards.
According to National Mirror, Dureke, a US-based Nigerian author, disclosed that the aim of the group was to inspire by the need to impact creative thinking into whatever students want to do; businesses, service, internship concept, among others.
She however, said the organisation would continue to prioritise on building a nation through mindset, service, volunteerism, mentorship, leadership with integrity and entrepreneurship.
