Police in Kogi state have arrested three student of theKogi State University(KSU), Anyigba, for threatening to kill one of their lecturers over examination grades.
The suspects,Daniel Attah,Solomon IdamahareandAdinoyi Bello, all students of the Department of Economics, allegedly made the threat after ECO 307 examination, a course taught by one Dr A.O. Adofu.
According to letter written by the school Chief Security Coordinator (CSO),Major M. J. Adama(rtd), to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), the trio had told Adofu that they would kill him if they scored an F grade.
The CSO noted that the Economics department has the highest cases of cult related crimes, hence the reason for taking the threat serious.
He revealed that a lecturer of the same department,Alehile Kehinde Samuel, was recently shot at his residence.
Confirming the students' arrest, KSU Vice Chancellor, Prof Hassan Isah, said investigations are ongoing.
“I can confirm three students were arrested on allegation of threatening their lecturer," Isah said.
