Fifty-nine students of theObafemi Awolowo University(OAU), Ile-Ife, have received N3.5m worth scholarships from theOAU Muslim Graduates’ Association(UNIFEMGA)
The scholarships were awarded at the association's three-day annual reunion convention which commenced on the 8th of May.
UNIFEMGA National President, Prof.Abdul Egbewole, noted that association has so far awarded scholarships worth N17.56m to students of the institution.
Business mogul and Chairman of Bi-Courtney Construction Company,Wale Babalakin(SAN), delivered a lecture titled: “Doing Business in Nigeria: Challenges of a Muslim Practitioner” at the conference.
Babalakin lamented the falling standards of education in the country, urging government to focus on knowledge development and application in order to boost economic growth.
