Bill Seeking To Grant Loans To Students To Further Their Education Passes 2nd Reading

A bill which aims to provide loans for Nigerian students who wish to further their education has passed the second reading in the house of representatives yesterday.
According to the sponsor of the bill, Femi Gbajabiamila, the loan should be made interest-free as Nigeria has the resources to provide steady education for future generations.
However, another House member, Olabode Ayorinde it will be a against already existing laws for banks to give loans interest-free and suggested that the House should rather set up an "education support fund".
After much deliberations, the lawmakers unanimously endorsed the second reading of the bill and subsequently referred it to tertiary education and services committee.

With modern day facilities and automation, a ship today has several advanced navigation equipment systems which give accurate data for the voyage. The sales of Post-UTME form of the Ekiti State University (EKSU) for 2016/2017 academic session has commenced.
Eligibility:

The screening is open to candidates who chose EKSU in the 2016 UTME and scored 180 and above.
All Direct Entry Candidates with not less than Upper Credit are directed to participate in the screening exam in order to secure admission.
EKSU will only admit candidates that made at least 5 credit passes in SSCE/NECO/WASC/NABTEB in the relevant subjects at two sittings only.

Interested candidates are to visit the e-portal and generate payment slip with their JAMB Reg. UNIUYO Extends Registration Deadline – 2nd Semester 2015/16

University of Uyo, UNIUYO extended the registration portal closing date for second semester, 2015/2016 academic session.
This is to inform all the students of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) that the management of the institution has announced the extension of registration portal closing date for the second semester, 2015/2016 academic session.
The Registration deadline for 2nd Semester which was earlier scheduled for Friday, May 27, 2016 has been re-scheduled for Friday, June 10, 2016.
Students are therefore to note that registration with penalty ends on Friday, June 10, 2016 and must endeavour to conclude their registration on or before that day.

The Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) Post UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise application form for the 2016/2017 academic session is out. Interested and qualified candidates are hereby requested to apply on the university admission page. Candidates that didn’t make TASUED their institution of choice during UTME and Direct Entry registration can also apply.

Note: Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) does not have any outside agent to help with the 2016/2017 admission exercise. The use of such agent is at candidate’s own risk and candidates should desist from using third party in processing their applications.
Candidates Eligible for TASUED Post UTME Screening Exercise.

Candidates who chose TASUED as theirfirst most preferredinstitution in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), and scored a minimum of180in UTME.

Direct Entry candidates who chose TASUED as their first most preferred and/or second most preferred institution for the Academic Session and have applied through Joint Admission And Matriculation Board (JAMB-).

Candidates seeking a change of institution to TASUED through JAMB, having scored a minimum of 180 in UTME.

Direct Entry candidates seeking a change of institution to Tai Solarin University of Education and obtained Direct Entry JAMB form.


How to Apply for TASUED Post UTME Screening Exercise.
1.
Candidates should apply online with the payment of application fee of One thousand naira only (#1,000.00). In addition, a processing fee of six thousand two hundred naira only (#6,200) for first choice candidates and Nine thousand two hundred naira (#9200) for categories of candidates in (iii) and (iv) above seeking change of institution to TASUED, payable with Master card or VISA ATM card (Please print out your receipt after payment)

Visit the TASUED website by typing http://www:my.tasued.edu.ng/admission/on the web page.

Click Post-UTME Registration Form. Candidates are strongly advised to click the University Degree Brochure and carefully study the O�Level requirements for the courses applied for, before registration on the TASUED website,

Complete the Registration Form by providing the required information;

Submit your form by clicking submit button.
6.
Print out an identification slip containing your colour passport photograph. The printed slip will serve as candidate�s identification/admission card for the screening test
7.
The sale of online form/registration commences on Friday, 27th May, 2016 and closes Wednesday 15th June, 2016.

 TASUED software application and such candidates shall be disqualified.

WAEC To Cancel Results Of Candidates Implicated In Examination Malpracticef

The West African Examinations Council, WAEC at the 61st Meeting of the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) of West African Examinations Council (WAEC) approved cancellation of entire results of candidates found guilty of examination malpractice while subject results of those involved in proven cases which attract Cancellation of Subject Results (CSR), be similarly cancelled.

This was contained in a communique made available to newsmen after the meeting.

It was also learnt that other candidates who are implicated in cases of malpractice will also suffer other sanctions such as being barred from sitting for the Council’s examinations for a certain number of years, while some schools which connive with students to cheat will be de-recognised.

However results of candidates of May/June 2015 WASSCE who were exonerated of examination malpractice by the Committee will be released

FUNAAB Sets New Date for 1st Semester Exam – 2015/16

Authority of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) wishes to inform all the undergraduate students of the institution that a new date has been fixed for the commencement of the 1st semester exam.
The 1st Semester Exam earlier scheduled to commence on Monday, 23rd of May, 2016 has been postponed to Tuesday, 31st of May, 2016.

Apply for FUTMINNA Postgraduate Admission Form – 2016/17

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) postgraduate programmes admission for the 2016/2017 academic session.
FUTMINNA Postgraduate General Admission Requirements.
A candidate applying for Postgraduate Studies in the Federal University of Technology, Minna must have obtained five (5) Credits in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and GCE (O’Level) or their equivalents including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings. No admission shall be made on the basis of any awaiting O/Level paper result and no exemption is made for admission into any programme.
1 Ph.D. Programmes
i. Candidates for Admission for any of the Ph.D. Programmes shall be Masters Degree graduates of the Federal University of Technology, Minna or any other Universities recognized by the Senate or holders of equivalent qualifications acceptable to University Senate.
ii. A Master Degree holder applying for the Ph.D. Programmes of the University must have maintained a weighted score average of 60% or a ‘B’ grade or aCGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale in overall performance in the Masters Degree programme.
iii. Appropriate courses may be prescribed for candidates whose background is considered weak for the areas of specialization. This is done at the discretion of the School/Department within the approved general regulations/guidelines of the Postgraduate School.
2. Master Degree Programmes
i. A Minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree from Federal University of Technology, Minna or any other recognized University.
ii. A Third Class Honour Degree with at least 3 years Postgraduate experience in relevant fields may be considered, in some areas, passing a qualifying examination to be administered by the Department of the candidates in consultation with the Postgraduate School may be required.
iii. Candidates with HND with a minimum of Lower Credit, ND Lower Credit and a Postgraduate Diploma in relevant field with, at least a minimum of Lower Credit and one year graduation experience may be considered.
iv For avoidance of doubt, candidates with PASS grade at any level Degree, PGD, HND and ND do not qualify for admission to the Masters Degree Programmes. No Diploma candidate with CGPA less than 2.50 qualifies for admission into the Masters Degree Programmes.
v Where examination is required as in the case of 1 (ii) and 1 (iii) above, an examination fee of N500.00 will be charged outside the cost of Postgraduate application forms.
vi. In all cases of admission the final decision on qualified candidates rests with the Postgraduate School Board. Candidates with Science-based background are normally considered.
3. Postgraduate Diploma Programmes
i. First degree in relevant areas from any recognised university.
ii. Candidates with a minimum of Lower Credit at HND level are eligible for admission.
iii. Candidates with PASS grade are not eligible for admission.

1.All applications for Postgraduate programmes are online through the University website ( https://www.futminna.edu.ng/);

3.All requested information on the online application must be correct, and accurately provided with current email addresses and phone numbers.
4.Completed application forms must be submitted online through the University portal latest on 31stJuly, 2016. All necessary instructions on filling of form must be adhered to and failure to do so is sufficient grounds to disqualify an applicant.
5.Completed application forms must be printed out as they would be requested for during registration, on successful admission.
6.All PhD Applicants must upload their research proposal of interest and ensure that their official transcripts are forwarded to;
