FUNAAB Sets New Date for 1st Semester Exam – 2015/16

Authority of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) wishes to inform all the undergraduate students of the institution that a new date has been fixed for the commencement of the 1st semester exam.
The 1st Semester Exam earlier scheduled to commence on Monday, 23rd of May, 2016 has been postponed to Tuesday, 31st of May, 2016.
Students are advised to check their Departmental Notice Boards for the New Time Table.

Apply for FUTMINNA Postgraduate Admission Form – 2016/17

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) postgraduate programmes admission for the 2016/2017 academic session.
FUTMINNA Postgraduate General Admission Requirements.
A candidate applying for Postgraduate Studies in the Federal University of Technology, Minna must have obtained five (5) Credits in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and GCE (O’Level) or their equivalents including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings. No admission shall be made on the basis of any awaiting O/Level paper result and no exemption is made for admission into any programme.
1 Ph.D. Programmes
i. Candidates for Admission for any of the Ph.D. Programmes shall be Masters Degree graduates of the Federal University of Technology, Minna or any other Universities recognized by the Senate or holders of equivalent qualifications acceptable to University Senate.
ii. A Master Degree holder applying for the Ph.D. Programmes of the University must have maintained a weighted score average of 60% or a ‘B’ grade or aCGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale in overall performance in the Masters Degree programme.
iii. Appropriate courses may be prescribed for candidates whose background is considered weak for the areas of specialization. This is done at the discretion of the School/Department within the approved general regulations/guidelines of the Postgraduate School.
2. Master Degree Programmes
i. A Minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree from Federal University of Technology, Minna or any other recognized University.
ii. A Third Class Honour Degree with at least 3 years Postgraduate experience in relevant fields may be considered, in some areas, passing a qualifying examination to be administered by the Department of the candidates in consultation with the Postgraduate School may be required.
iii. Candidates with HND with a minimum of Lower Credit, ND Lower Credit and a Postgraduate Diploma in relevant field with, at least a minimum of Lower Credit and one year graduation experience may be considered.
iv For avoidance of doubt, candidates with PASS grade at any level Degree, PGD, HND and ND do not qualify for admission to the Masters Degree Programmes. No Diploma candidate with CGPA less than 2.50 qualifies for admission into the Masters Degree Programmes.
v Where examination is required as in the case of 1 (ii) and 1 (iii) above, an examination fee of N500.00 will be charged outside the cost of Postgraduate application forms.
vi. In all cases of admission the final decision on qualified candidates rests with the Postgraduate School Board. Candidates with Science-based background are normally considered.
3. Postgraduate Diploma Programmes
i. First degree in relevant areas from any recognised university.
ii. Candidates with a minimum of Lower Credit at HND level are eligible for admission.
iii. Candidates with PASS grade are not eligible for admission.

5.Completed application forms must be printed out as they would be requested for during registration, on successful admission.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Candidates for admission into the MBA Programme shall normally possess Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University, with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division). Holders of professional qualifications such as ACA, ACMA AIB ACIS, CIBN, ACTS or HND (Upper Credit) must possess a postgraduate Diploma Certificate in Strategic Management from the University of Ilorin with a Minimum average weighted score of 60%. All candidates should have at least Five (5) Credit Passes at the Ordinary Level (O/L), Including English Language and Mathematics irrespective of field of study.
Master of Geographic Information System (MGIS)
Candidates for admission into the MGIS Programme shall normally possess Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University, with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division). Holders of professional qualifications such as HND(Upper Credit) with a minimum of five (5) years post -qualification experience are also eligible to apply.

1.Hold an honours first degree in Health Planning and Management, or related field, OR Have an honours degree in a discipline other than Health Planning and Management, plus at least 3 years experience in Health Planning, Research and Statistics or other relevant Departments after graduation, OR Hold an honours first degree in other discipline, but must in addition, possess postgraduate certificate or Diploma in Health Planning and Management or related fields from recognized Institutions; OR A pass degree in Health Planning and Management or related discipline, plus 3 years experience OR Any other qualification approved by senate of the University.
2.a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division in any of the above. In addition, all candidates must have O’ level credits in English and Mathematics or their equivalents.
Postgraduate Diploma in Geographic Information System (PGDGIS)
Candidates for admission into the GIS postgraduate diploma Programme shall normally possess a recognized Bachelor’s Degree with at least a Third Class Honours or HND (Lower Credit) or their equivalent, in Geography, Environmental Science, the Sciences, other Social Science, Forestry, Engineering, Architecture, Town Planning etc. Notwithstanding the above, candidate with substantial work experience who have attained managerial positions may still be considered for admission on individual merit.
Postgraduate Diploma in International Affairs and Diplomacy (PGDIAD)
Candidates for admission into the postgraduate Diplomain International Affairs and Diplomacy (PGDIAD)Programme shall normally possess Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of PASS grade from University of Ilorin or any other recognized University or HND with at least a Lower Credit.
Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management (PGDSM)
Candidates for admission into the postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management (PGDSM) should normally possess Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification such as ICAN or HND certificate with a minimum of Lower Credit from recognized Institutions.

This s to inform all the NCE students of the Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin (KWCOEILORIN) that the authorities of the institution have announced the final date for the closure of the university portal for the 2015/2016 academic session registration and payment of fees.
The NCE Portal opened for registration since 18th January, 2016 in respect of the ongoing 2015/2016 academic session will be closed by 30th May, 2016.

Four FUTA students die in road accident


Four students of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, died in a road accident on the Akure-Ilesha expressway in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State on Saturday.

The spokesman for the Police Command in Ondo State, Mr Femi Joseph, confirmed the incident and said that 11 others sustained various degrees of injuries.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the students were returning from Ibadan after attending a religious programme.



Joseph further confirmed that the remains of the students were deposited at the Ondo State Specialist Hospital, Akure, where those injured were hospitalised.

No fewer than 15 students were in the bus when the accident happened.

The police spokesman said that preliminary investigation had revealed that the accident involved a Hiace bus carrying the students and a motorcycle.

“The accident happened when the bus driver lost control while trying to avoid the motorcycle that suddenly appeared on the highway.

“The bus somersaulted several times after trying to manoeuvre its way,” Joseph said.

He said policemen and marshals of the Federal Road Safety Commission were at the scene to assist the deceased and those injured.

Mr Segun Oladele, President of the FUTA chapter of the Students’ Union Government, who also confirmed the deaths, said that those injured were responding to treatment.

The management of University of Nigeria Nsukka in a bid To help students familiarize themselves with the Computer Based Test (CBT) system being used by the institution for post-UTME Screening has provided a platform where students can practice using the system.
Candidates are to purchase a scratch card at the sum of N500 only (excludes bank commission) from any of the following banks; UBA Plc, Fidelity Bank, First Bank or Access Bank.
Steps To Registration And Practice For UNN CBT:
1)Visithttp://www:unnprecbt.unn.edu.ng/
2) Log on with your Jamb Registration Number and the CBT practice Scratch Card pin you purchased.
3) Click the “Submit” button
4) Select your course of study.
5) Enter the subjects’ you registered during the JAMB exam.
6) Click “Start“.
7) Print out the page containing your token (The number that gives you access to practice for this exam).
8) Go back to http://www:unnprecbt.unn.edu.ng/
9) Click on the link below the page that says “Click here to Login and take the test“.
10) Enter your Examination No (the number on the token you generated earlier).
11) Enter your JAMB registration number.
12) Click the Login button.
13) Start the Exam.
14) Submit when done.
15) See Result.
16) Log out from the system.
Note: UNN post-UTME 2016/2017 has not been announced.

ACU Charges Students N5,000 for Non-Attendance at Community Worship

Ajayi Crowther University, ACU charged students N5,000.00 for non-attendance at Community Worship on Wednesdays and Sunday.
Authority of the Ajayi Crowther University (ACU) has announced that henceforth, non-attendance at Community Worship on Wednesdays and Sunday will attract N5,000.00 on each occasion.
Parents should check the website for the records of their children’s attendance at Community and Sunday Services.
As this will be used as part of Examination Clearance for 2nd Semester Examination which will begin on 13th June 2016.

OSPOLY Management Reverses Suspended Union Activities

The management of Osun State Polytechnic, OSPOLY, Iree has reversed the suspension of students union activities.
This was stated clearly in a memo pasted around the campus and signed by the school registrar, Mr Adeniyi Odedeyi.
The memo partly reads, ” In view of the above, I am directed to inform the entire students that the management has magnanimous considered the letter of appeal on resolution of internal dispute between the students union executives and the students representatives council written by two warring leadership of the students union Government dated 12th May, 2016.
“In the light above, the management has resolve to lift the suspension order place on students Union activities effective from today Monday 16th may, 2016.”
It could be recalled that the union activities was suspended on 10th May, 2016 which was due to rancor between the two arms of Government.
The management urged every students to continue to be law abiding.
